Dental implants, on the other hand, often last 20 years or longer, with many patients keeping them for life. That means you get more than twice the value of your initial investment with implants over time.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fewer Trips to the Dentist for Repairs<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dentures need regular relines and adjustments as your jawbone changes shape over time. Bridges can also fail if the supporting teeth develop decay or damage. Implants avoid both of these issues because they&#8217;re fused into your jawbone. Over time, that means fewer maintenance visits and fewer surprise repair costs that can add up quickly.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">They Protect the Rest of Your Mouth<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not only are implants sturdy and aesthetically pleasing, but they&rsquo;re also the only tooth replacement that helps prevent jawbone loss. After tooth loss, the bone around the missing tooth goes unstimulated, causing it to shrink and weaken.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dentures can mask this issue, but they can&rsquo;t prevent it, which is why relines and adjustments are necessary.
