Get to Know
Beau A. Deaver, DDS, MS

Dr. Deaver started his college career majoring in petroleum engineering, following in the footsteps of his father and brother, even though he had considered healthcare in the past. At this pivotal time, he had the opportunity to shadow his dentist and became very interested in the field. He ultimately decided that dentistry would be his career, changing his major within the first few months of college. The combination of art, science, and helping people just seemed like the right fit immediately.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Deaver went on to earn his DDS from the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. This was followed by his prosthodontic residency training at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, making him a specialist in dental implants, cosmetic dentistry, and reconstructive dentistry.

Prosthodontists are considered the experts when it comes to complex, full-mouth cases that involve replacing the teeth and rebuilding the bite. In addition to being able to complete high-level dental work themselves, they can also serve as the chief coordinator between different healthcare providers, which is why they are often referred to as the “quarterbacks” of dentistry. This ensures that a patient has a smooth, cohesive experience while achieving their dental goals as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Growing up in University Park, Dr. Deaver was drawn to education and science from an early age thanks to his mother, a teacher, and father, an engineer (now retired). His brother went on to become an engineer as well, and his sister is an accomplished artist. When he’s not taking care of patients, Dr. Deaver likes to spend his free time golfing, playing piano, or hanging out with family and friends.
